About the event
Join Countryside Art Club for a special day exploring the enduring art of tapestry, from a major contemporary commission to one of Britain's most celebrated centres of craft, conservation and artistic patronage.
Our morning begins at Goodwood Art Foundation, one of the UK's newest contemporary art destinations, set within 70 acres of woodland, meadows and landscaped gardens. Curator Eleanor Clark will lead us on a tailored tour of the Foundation's summer programme, with a particular focus on Eva Rothschild's important new tapestry commission, woven locally at West Dean's renowned Tapestry Studio. Along the way, we'll encounter works by some of the world's leading contemporary artists, including Yayoi Kusama, Nancy Holt, Lee Ufan and Hélio Oiticica.
