About the event
Unwin is fascinated by both the human form and the natural world. Her designs reflect an amalgamation of native shapes such as eroded sea shells and fossils, combined with the delicate lines of the human body. Often plant-like in their structure, these organic shapes represent the ever-present influence of our natural environment on the human body — both physically and emotionally.
Unwin grew up on a farm in rural Essex, which ignited her love for the natural world. She studied Fine Art Sculpture at Winchester School of Art in 2006 and has worked as a professional sculptor ever since. She is represented by Messums and has exhibited widely across the UK and Sweden, sold work internationally to Europe, the USA, and the Caribbean, and was commissioned to create a monumental sculpture for public display in Iceland.
Notable exhibitions include On Form at Asthall Manor, Glyndebourne Opera House, and Udden Skulpturpark in Sweden.…
