About the event
Michael Hue-Williams of Albion Gallery London and his team will take us through the new John Virtue exhibition at Albion Barn, followed by the sculpture park in the Albion Fields. Virtue is renowned as one of the UK's most distinguished painters, honing his craft at the prestigious Slade School of Fine Art and studying under the mentorship Frank Auerbach and Euan Uglow. This exhibition features a remarkable body of 45 new paintings that mark a pivotal moment in the artist's career. Linear drawing gestures so critical to much of his work right from his early ink lines in the 1980s have completely vanished. Through the collection we witness Virtue's journey into uncharted territory. Following this, we will explore the Albion Fields, a sculpture park set within 50 acres of Oxfordshire countryside featuring works by Erwin Wurm, James Capper, Richard Long, Bernar Venet and Vito Acconci.
