About the event

Living and working close to nature from his studio in Wiltshire, British equine sculptor Charlie Langton has shaped his practice around a singular focus -  capturing the power, majesty and athletic form of the horse.

He strives to encapsulate not mere likeness but spirit. He spends hours observing horses in their natural habitat — sketching in fields, studying movement on racecourses — translating fleeting motion into enduring form.

Having studied Fine Art at Edinburgh College of Art, before undertaking an apprenticeship at the prestigious Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence, he immersed himself in the sculptural legacy of Donatello, Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci — a lineage evident in both the beauty and anatomical precision of his work.

“Sculpting a portrait of a great horse can be an accurate historical record of the bloodline as well as a work of art,” declares Langton.
